Clark Pettit is an accomplished corporate executive, board advisor, and recovering engineer with over 30 years of global operational experience from five different countries.  His journey to CEO included roles as technologist, operations, sales, strategist, and new business founder. His leadership successes included driving information systems, digital supply chain, data analytics and other disruptive technologies to launch, transform or grow new businesses often in some of the world’s largest companies.

At Merryck & Co., he has mentored CEOs and emerging C-suite executives in many different sectors.  He leverages his wide insights, empathy, and willingness to speak the confidential truth, to help leaders accelerate to their most authentic and impactful selves.


In addition to his work at Merryck & Co., Pettit serves on the advisory boards of several rapid growth, technology-based businesses and is a partner in a real estate development firm.

Pettit has held senior executive roles with leading global companies including The Dow Chemical Company, Parsons Brinckerhoff, EMI Music, Ascent Media, and Accenture. His experience includes using data analytics to launch new business units, driving growth through new products and strategic partnerships, creating global digital businesses in the music, film and television industries, and handling major industry mergers and acquisitions. Over the course of his career, Pettit has lived and worked in Hong Kong, Taiwan, Paris, London, New York, and Los Angeles.

Previously, Pettit served as president and CEO of the Association of Business Information and Media Companies (ABM), representing the $27B business-to-business information and media industry. In this role, he led an extensive organizational turnaround, leveraging his M&A and industry experience to define disruptive business models, accelerate new revenue streams, and spearhead an industry-wide restructuring, concluding with a successful merger with the Software & Information Industry Association (SIIA).


Pettit holds a B.S. degree in chemical engineering from Arizona State University. His other pursuits have included real estate development, practicing martial arts in the US and Asia, horseback and mountain bike riding, and he now lives on a ranch with his wife and daughter.
