Kathleen Dyer is an accomplished C-suite executive, board director, and executive mentor. She has a proven track record of over 30 years leading major, transformational and digitally-driven initiatives to achieve collaborative and innovative business solutions to challenging and disruptive problems and demands. Her experience spans the healthcare, technology, telecommunications, education, and government sectors. At Merryck & Co., Dyer works with Fortune 250 C-suite executives and global business leaders who are experiencing significant market and organizational challenges resulting from shifts in their product line demand, the changing economic environment and major digital transformations.
In addition to her work at Merryck, Dyer serves on the Board of Directors for Medstar Union Memorial Hospital and the Information Technology and Analytics Executive Council at American University. She has several decades of experience serving on numerous other boards and has received several outstanding executive leadership achievement awards throughout her career.
As a member of the C-Suite and Executive Council at Adventist HealthCare, Dyer led the mandate to become a digitally savvy organization in her role as CIO. She spearheaded the alignment of the organization’s long-term growth strategies and initiatives to the IT strategy and architecture. She was responsible for leading major technology initiatives focused on electronic health records implementations and optimization, clinical quality and business process improvements, efficient and integrated revenue cycle management, and healthcare data analytics. These were the cornerstones of the company’s strategy, which positioned it for future success and ongoing growth.
Previously, she was a member of Booz Allen Hamilton’s Executive Leadership Team and served on Executive Committees to define and advance the firm’s strategy, investment, and people development initiatives. As a business leader, she drove outstanding competitive and financial results through her work with executive and senior leadership clients. This collaborative work with clients included the design and implementation of major change initiatives using break-through strategies, organizational optimization, targeted people development and innovative technologies.
Prior to Booz Allen, she held leadership positions with major telecommunications and technology industry leaders, financial institutions, educational, and health organizations.
Dyer currently serves as an adjunct professor at American University’s Kogod School of Business, providing MBA students with an in-depth understanding on how to strategically and operationally align emerging technologies with business imperatives. Dyer holds a master’s degree in information technology from American University as well as a master’s degree in education from the University of Pittsburgh. She is also a certified executive coach.
Dyer lives in Maryland and volunteers her time advising local organizations, as well as NGOs in the Caribbean region. She and her husband enjoy spending time with their immediate and extended families across the globe.
