Damian is a London based Chartered Accountant, Management Consultant and Non-Executive Director with more than thirty years international experience. He is a Partner and leads the Board & CEO Practice at Savannah Group, a pre-eminent executive search and leadership advisory firm based in London. Damian is also a non-executive director of Arqiva Group Limited, owner of critical national infrastructure in the UK, a non-executive director of the Australia–UK Chamber of Commerce and Deputy Chairman of the Britain Australia Society. Damian enjoyed a long career with Ernst & Young (now EY), initially as a Partner in the Australian firm and later as a Partner in the US firm. He was seconded to the EY Global Office in New York in 1990 and played a key role in the post-merger integration programme. After some time back in Australia, Damian was again seconded to the Global Office, this time based in London. From 2005, Damian held senior roles in management consultancies advising some of the world’s largest companies before being recruited into Heidrick & Struggles as a member of the CEO & Board Practice in 2013. Damian holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of New South Wales. He has completed the Ernst & Young European Senior Management Programme and the Financial Seminar for Senior Managers at London Business School. Damian is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants, Australia & New Zealand, a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England & Wales and a member of the Institute of Directors.
Outside of work, Damian is a keen sailor, skier and wine enthusiast. He lives in London with his wife, Jacqui Thompson, an active supporter of Australian related charities and community interests.
