Michele Jobling

Michele is a highly accomplished creative, commercial and consumer focused Managing Director with proven ability to lead and motivate teams through significant change process in retail and FMCG. She is best placed to Mentor CEOs leading strategic change programmes within their company. She is passionate about three imperatives:

1. Confident and consistent communication with all stakeholders; Have you worked out your most important stakeholder group? How good are you at 'managing the projection' of yourself?
2. The need for careful attention to the balance between optimism and prudence; are you careful not to over promise?
3. That all people need help seeing the wood from the trees; are you certain that you are focusing on your highest leverage activities?

A key issue for any Chief Executive entering a change programme is confidential and impartial support. As a mentor, she is a valuable sounding board and has helped her clients be more successful change managers and more competent executives in the process by combining the experience and skills gained in an impressive 20 year career with her highly intuitive nature. After graduating, Michele spent the first 10 years of her career in food retail with a happy 7 years at Tesco. Leaving to join B&Q, she was instrumental in the concept formation of the B&Q Warehouse. She crossed the tracks to Tambrands (the Tampax Company) where she was part of the international management board. She returned to retail as MD of Liberty, leaving after doubling shareholder value on the sale of the company. Her last executive appointment was as MD of The Zip Project, a joint-venture company between Marks and Spencer and Desmond and Co. She married Berry in ’89; their surrogate children are a horse, dog and a cat; and she splits her time between homes in the UK and overseas.
