Continuity
over at least a year
Clients need to develop a relationship over the
medium to long term. After the initial casting meeting,
scoping meeting and 2-day retreat (some 30+ hours
in advance of the mentoring actually commencing as
an ongoing relationship) Clients typically spend 2-3
hours with their Mentor every 2-3 weeks in a face-to-face
meeting as well as regular contact by telephone and
email.
There is no limit to access and Clients have weekly,
or even sometimes daily, discussions with their Mentor,
particularly during periods of turbulence. The relationship
that develops over a year or more should provide the
Client with a unique place to park, download and evaluate,
with no conflicts of interest, hidden agenda, axe
to grind or vested interest in any outcome (other
than the Clients success).
This is a very powerful tool for the Business Leader
during times of rapid change.
